What Does It Do?

The Remove Background tool uses an AI model that runs entirely on your device to separate the foreground subject from the background. Upload a photo — a product shot, a portrait, a logo — and within a few seconds, you get a clean cutout with a transparent background.

How to Use It

It takes about 10 seconds from upload to download. Here's the workflow:

Step 1: Go to the Remove Background tool.

Step 2: Upload your image. Drag and drop, or click to browse. JPG, PNG, and WebP are all accepted.

Step 3: Wait a few seconds while the AI processes. You'll see a progress bar while the model loads, then another while it removes the background. On my laptop, a typical 2000×1500 photo takes about 3-5 seconds.

Step 4: Choose your background.

• Transparent — keeps the background clear (great for logos and overlays)
• Solid Color — pick any color with the color picker
• Upload Image — use another photo as the background. It scales intelligently to cover the area without stretching.

Step 5: Download your image. Pick your format — PNG for transparency, WebP for smaller file size, or JPEG if you used a solid color or image background.

I ran a batch of my own product photos through it yesterday. What used to take about 5 minutes per image in another tool took under 15 seconds each. The time savings add up fast when you're working with dozens of images.
